Guidelines

  • Most of my book reviews may not be for everyone and that’s OK because I’m not making a blog for fame. Unlike other blogs, I don’t just commit to reading one type of genre, i.e. YA romance because I read a from a range of genre.
  • I started writing Latif Reviews as a personal journal of all books I have or want to read. You’ll find my earlier 2015 posts that may not be considered professional reviews. But the more I have read and reviewed, the better I have become at mastering what makes a book evergreen.
  • I am a SLOW READER. If a novel is 350 + pages, it’ll take me over a week to read it, (50 pages a day) plus a day or two to write a review and format the webpage. You’re looking at 2-3 weeks.
  • I aim to blog every fortnight and may not blog as frequently as I would like to. I may not review every book I read, because my novel writing will take precedence.
  • All reviews are based on my opinion. If there is a book I need to rant about, then don’t take offence. In real life, I’m not a mean person, but sometimes you come across a book and think why was this even published? I take it as a moral obligation to warn others.
  • I read a range of books, fiction mostly, but non-fiction too. I don’t have a preferred genre but I would like to read older and lesser-known books because some of them are undiscovered gems. That said – I also dabble in reading hyped up ‘big books’ and giving my honest opinion about it.
  • If you’re a publisher, PR or author and you want to send me books to review then please check out my Review Policy for more details
  • I will comment back and respond to tahieubachaudhry@outlook.com
Review Format:
  • My review posts may vary in length because sometimes there’s only so much you can say about a book that may require a few lines.
  • Every review will include: a picture of the book cover, the blurb in italics, links to Goodreads, publisher and publication date. I will state if a review has SPOILERS in capitalized bold text. I will give my honest opinion. I can’t promise a positive review, I will be fair and detail what I liked and mention anything I did not enjoy.
  • All reviews I write are also posted on Goodreads. I'm working on adding my previous reviews too but it may take me a little bit of time to catch up.
